Why is my heating gas boiler bill very high?

last winter i paid $10,000 for gas heating in my 3 family house, and the heater was on only for 2 hours per day only on cold days too. i asked my neighbors who use similar boilers but they said their bill was nothing close to mines. what could possibly be the reason? plz help im getting poor paying these bills
